Found this gem of a place in Stanmore, London, United Kingdom. The Manor Elstree, Laura Ashley Manor is a hotel as well fine restaurant. Visited the bar and the service was high standard. Luxury atmosphere with really good interior and seating. Good place to talk to someone. Not loud at all. There is a afternoon tea too! Highly recommended visiting.
We went for a Sunday night coffee and it was lovely. Great views, good service and decent prices. Will return.
We had our wedding reception here 37 years ago, so nice to return for my mother-in-laws 87th Birthday. Very nice tea of sandwiches, bagels, scones and cakes with real tea! So much took two boxes home!! Charming attentive service and didnt charge for our grandson, which was a nice gesture. Only reason why not higher rating, because the disabled loo out of order, which itself is out of order!
I stayed at the Manor with my kids for Friday night. Although there was a wedding at the hotel that evening, the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. We went out Friday night in the dark and had a blast with the chess game. We played again on Saturday. In the afternoon, the kids cuddled in the upstairs lounge reading books. I will totally stay there again!! My only suggestion would be to renew the mattresses, they seem aged and have minimal padding. My thinking is when they renovated the Hotel the owners were scammed in buying an inferior product and now its expensive to replace them. The reason I say this is because everything else is so nice, the towels were plush, the linen was crisp and clean, the duvet was warm. The mattress was just out of place in this class Hotel. I still gave 5 stars because overal the experience was really great.
Wasn't sure what to expect as the reviews where mixed but I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by Tom who was our waiter for the evening & shown into the Cavendish restaurant & given an option of tables. He was very polite & helpful. After 2 courses I commented jokingly that my choices had not come with a reveal (a lid) and I was waiting for my dah dah moment. Tom arranged for Bennie, who was the bartender to come to our table & perform some magic so I wasn't too disappointed. Which was lovely. We then went to the bar and conversed with Bennie before heading outside to take in the air & observe the stunning view. We bumped into Will who was ensuring the outside & smoking area were clean and tidy. Back in the bar Bennie entertained us further with one last trick. Giving each of us a card with a message thanking us for being great customers. The evening was wonderful, the company & staff all added to a lovely night. We will return.
