I was pleasantly surprised at how well the a&e department handled my situation. Within 3 hours I had numerous tests done, liaised with various medical staff and received the treatment and outcome required. Thank you to all staff who helped me out especially the nurse who carried out my blood test who was very warm and accommodating.
Fantastic Children's A & E. They took my child's condition seriously after being fobbed off by North Mid. Immediate tests given within 6 hours (thank god) when I was told by North Mid we'd have to wait 2 weeks. Yes they were overstretched, and very busy, but it didn't stop them being completely thorough, professional and caring. This as a lady in her forties is how I remember the NHS to be, quite the opposite of North Mid. Actually can't rate them enough.
Attended by appointment for a biopsy. The surgeon, who was to do the procedure, was very supportive, explaining each step of the procedure, The procedure was efficiently and successfully completed
The parking is UNREAL. Was told by my midwife to be early for my appointments as the hospital gets very busy and if I'm late they won't see me; they'll re-schedule. I was an hour and a half early on a thursday, close to lunchtime when I got to the car park. The car park was UNBELIEVABLE, never seen anything like it. It was completely full and congested with cars trying to find parking. It took 45 minutes to get out of the car park after only 7going around it once, decided there was no way I'd get a space... checked all roads surrounding the area multiple times- (as did a numerous amount of other cars!) and they were completely packed or had double yellows. I ended up having 10minutes until my appointment time, I decided to risk getting a parking ticket and run 10minutes up a hill! There was no way I was going through all of that stress to miss my 20 week scan. I've never seen anything like it, absolutely dreading going for another appointment. I'd advice anyone to get public transport and if you have an appointment around lunch time, change it!!
I fell off a ladder and broke my pelvis and was taken to Barnet General. I was treated very well by the nursing staff. Food was very tasty and the ward was very clean and modern. I am very grateful for the nursing I received. Keep up the good work Barnet General. Please also read my review of royal free hospital hamstead
