We took our dog in for a check up as he had trouble breathing and a nose infection.. He hadn't slept properly for days after his visit to another branch. Saw Livia and she was very good.. She checked him over and said she thought he may have a throat problem.. She spent time going through everything and gave him injections to help.. He slept from 12ish to the evening had something to eat slept through the night.. He improved over night and is getting better..he's not out of the woods yet but we feel we are in good hands.. Would recommend this practice.. They are very caring as is the one In Hertford Road.. Really pleased with them too..
everyone at Medivet Cockfosters are so so lovely. they are highly professional and really care about animals. the trust is so great. My pet Jack Russel, Sam has a nervous character and the team there-particularly Olivia- handle him so, so well even though he's a nightmare at times. the best vet in London

Maybe increasing profits for the practice seems to be the No 1 Priority here. My wee dog had an ear infection and the vet started saying because of his age (11) its best to do full pre-assessment, including liver function test, urine samples and full blood counts before any GA can be administered.I asked why an ear syringe could not be done under a LA & Sed as its less risky and often safer as well as being obviously cheaper at which the Vet said "There is no difference"! Of course there is a difference in GA and LA & Sed I pointed out. I asked how much the cost would be for LA without all the additional tests, yet she pointed out again the importance of full anaesthetic pre-operative screening but if I did not want pre op checks or the GA option, then the ear syringe would cost 425.00! I'm gutted that they seem to be concerned with the overall profits. I'm not a money bag, I duly paid the 42.00 consultation fee and left, shaking. I then went with a friends recommendation of a local vet the next day who prescribed ear drops at 32.00 this included the consultation fee and the infection has started to improve. If further treatment is required, then we shall talk about ear syringing which may cost around 150.00 - A much better option.After that experience, Im going to stay with independent vets recommended by friends, instead of taking my beloved to a corporate chain of Veterinarian practices.
I have to say I am disgusted by the treatment we have recieved at both cockfosters and Enfield medivet. I would not recommend anyone to take any of their beloved pets there. on Thursday my cat had blocked bladder so I went to the cockfosters branch where they quoted me 2100 to treat my cat in the Enfield hospital. I thought this was a hell of a lot of money and said i wasn't able to pay that so they said you won't find treatment cheaper. so I was so upset at the thought of not helping my cat. the vet then said to me I could sign him over to the surgery and they would treat him there and rehome him after! so i said to the vet so u could treat him here then and she said yes if you sign him over! so i said why can't you charge me to do it here (cockfosters). she was like because its against our policy! basically they are rip off merchants. so i was like no sorry I'm not willing to do that so before signing anything I left with him and they billed me nearly 200! for blood tests! so I organised him to go to another vet in Southgate which treated my cat for 3days and charged me 650 including all medication and food! sadly 2 days later my 10 months old puppy sadly passed away and i am devastated. yesterday I want to medivet in Enfield to take my puppy to be cremated. on arrival I was standing at reception with my husband my deceased puppy and my other dog. whilst waiting the whole ceiling fell down and a large chunk of it landed on my dog frightening the life out of him. my lovely puppy that had died was covered in dust. the receptionist was like "oh sorry we have been waiting for the ceiling to fall that's why some of the waiting area is blocked off!!" sorry but surely if the ceiling is at risk of falling down the reception area shouldn't be inuse at all! I was in such shock and I'm totally disgusted that they didn't even asked to check over my dog after the ceiling fell on him. I have 3 cats and now 2 dogs and won't be using medivet ever again!
