Great local pub; frequented by Barnet residents who like a chat and a drink or three. Was really busy from 7.30pm so maybe post work colleagues. Atmospheric and historic with great beer garden(s) for warm weather Al fresco socialising. We love to go here as it's friendly and people are respectful of and towards each other. Only minus is that it is quite pricey.
Worth a visit, very old pub in the heart of Barnet. Good local crowd, fantastic selection of beers, ales, craft beers on rotation. Outdoor seating at the back, heated in cold weather. Great drinkers pub.
A small group of us went in Xmas eve following panto. We stood right at the back garden out the way. The staff kept telling us the children had to be sat at a table & not stood up. Guy was rude twice so we left, family friendly at Xmas it wasn't. Poor management & even worse customer service skills. Give it a miss if you are looking for friendly service. All went to Black Horse, great staff, great food & welcoming staff.I think you are mis informed regarding the children & who was actually playing on the plastic horse. Rather than come up & engage with us his delivery was poor
Great pub with bags of character! The interior is rustic and wonky with a great fire in the second room. Fab selection of ales and beers. There is a large outside area with heaters and covers for the winter and a more sheltered coach area. The food is not great. Definitely a drinks only kind of venue. Prices average for Barnet.
Love this place. Nice old main bar. Lovely beer garden. Great staff. Good for sports with TVs in the back that can be seen from the beer garden. Lots of cover in the beer garden when the weather isn't great and has heaters for one section (4 tables with 4 seats a table). Easily one of the best bars in Barnet!
